Carlo Ancelotti thanked the Everton fans for helping the team ‘keep the dream alive’ of qualifying for Europe. The Blues produced a committed performance to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 with a Richarlison header proving the difference in front of 6,500 supporters at Goodison.
Carlo Ancelotti said: “There was a completely different attitude, spirit [to the Sheffield United game] and the concentration we had from the beginning. After that we had a strong defence and after we scored we defended the result until the end. The supporters helped us a lot. It makes sense that in three [league] games at home with fans we had three wins. That means something. We are really pleased to give them these three points at the end of the season and also because we didn’t have a good run at home.”
On the possibility of still qualifying for Europe,
Carlo Ancelotti said: “I think the dream is still alive but we don’t have a lot of possibilities. We are going to the small possibility and do our best in the last game. It is the most difficult game but for sure we will put all of our energy into the last game.”
