Brian Clough began his 19th year in charge of Nottingham Forest with a much-needed win. Ian Woan grabbed the only goal of the game in the 65th minute to seal Forest’s second away win in the league that season. Despite a welcome three points and a second win in a row, Clough’s Forest remained rooted to the bottom of the pile. Coventry who had averaged three goals a game in their previous four home matches looked off the boil and could hardly manage a shot on goal.
