As the international break was about to come to an end, Graeme Souness was talking about the small improvements he had seen in his side’s performances and was hoping that a positive attitude and building on that confidence would put them right back on the track soon. He also said that now the focus was making sure that the strikers convert the half-chances into goals.
Graeme Souness said “I’ve been delighted with the way we have been defending. We just have to take our chances. Ian Rush got a half chance for Wales the other night and he put it away. Hopefully, he’ll do that for us as well. We had a convincing win against a lower division side in our last game. We must show the same positive attitude tomorrow and create the same chances against a premier league side because we have people who will take those chances.”
