Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is refusing to take the challenge of facing winless Sheffield United lightly when the two sides meet at Anfield on Saturday evening, insisting the Blades’ performances have been far better than what their results suggest. After losing their first four matches to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Arsenal, respectively, Chris Wilder’s side got their first point on the board last weekend as they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham. Despite their lowly league position, though, Liverpool chief Klopp, who has watched his side fail to win each of their last two Premier League outings, is refusing to underestimate the task ahead of his players, paying credit to United’s performances so far this term, despite yet failing to secure a victory in league and cup.

Jurgen Klopp said “The performances of Sheffield United have not been bad and Wilder knows that, They’ve had a full week to prepare with strength in set-pieces, so we are focused on this and not what is going on in the Premier League. We all know him very well. That’s the problem – we know how good he is. Rhian used to be our boy but still we feel he is. I wish them a nearly perfect Premier League season – all world class games but two games off when they play us.”
