Accrington Stanley manager John Doolan expressed his admiration for Everton loanee Isaac Heath following his pivotal role in securing a victory against Tranmere Rovers. Heath, a 21-year-old winger, has been making waves in his debut senior season, showcasing his talent and potential with impressive performances.
John Doolan said: “We knew we’d hurt them in the wide areas. We knew that, we’d seen – we came on Saturday to watch them. We knew we could hurt them there but the lads have got to do it, the individual players have got to do it. As you just touched on with Isaac Heath there, he’s got that magic about him, he can beat [his defender] and go both ways. He can beat his man one-on-one. I said to Paddy at the end, I just wanted him to be there when he put that pinpoint cross in and Paddy had a great header.”
John Doolan further commented in December: “Isaac Heath is just an unbelievable talent. To see what teams are doing to him now, doubling up, trebling up… He’s getting asked loads of questions, he’s figuring it out himself, he’s got answers. He’s scoring goals and assisting. He’s a constant threat and he’s only going to get better.”
Heath’s performance against Tranmere Rovers was a testament to his growing reputation. His assist for Paddy Madden’s match-winning goal was his fourth of the season, complementing his four goals. This contribution has solidified his place as a regular starter for Accrington Stanley. The young winger’s ability to reach the byline, hold up play, and deliver precise crosses has been instrumental in his team’s attacking strategy.
Heath’s development has not gone unnoticed, with interest from clubs looking to secure his services permanently during the January transfer window. His accolades, including being named Everton Under-21s’ player of the year last season, underline his potential. As he continues to adapt to the demands of senior football, Heath’s performances are likely to draw further attention from clubs and fans alike.
The support and guidance from manager John Doolan have been crucial in Heath’s transition to senior football. Doolan’s faith in the young winger’s abilities is evident, and his consistent praise highlights the significant impact Heath has had on the team. As the season progresses, Heath’s contributions will be vital in Accrington Stanley’s pursuit of success in League 2.
