Fabian Hürzeler
Brighton & Hove Albion are set to face a stern test as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Amex Stadium. With Tottenham having conceded just once this season in both the Premier League and Champions League, Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler is carefully considering his attacking strategies. The Seagulls are looking to find the back of the net against a formidable Spurs defense.
Fabian Hurzeler said: “Brajan Gruda as a false nine was a possibility,” and noted that “Stefanos Tzimas and Charalampos Kostoulas have trained well,” while praising Georginio Rutter’s efforts in the recent defeat at Bournemouth. “Overall I’m quite happy with the situation. Now it’s about making the right decisions and trying to give the players what they deserve in the right moment.”
Hurzeler is keenly aware of the importance of Danny Welbeck to the team, despite the forward not being at his peak form.
Fabian Hurzeler said: “He was in a better shape last season when he scored goals, when he was there for his team. But that’s normal. Everyone has this phase and that is nothing bad. It is just now our responsibility to help him where we can help him because he helped us a lot last season. We are very grateful to have him and now it is about us giving him the support he needs every day. He is a very important player for us and he will be a very important player for us this season.”
Stefanos Tzimas, who made his Premier League debut as a substitute in the match against Bournemouth, is another player under Hurzeler’s consideration.
Fabian Hurzeler said: “It was not an easy game to get into. He tried a lot, he tried to play physical, he tried to win his personal battles, so he’s a hard worker, he’s a grafter, and therefore I think that’s just the basic thing. Now it’s about us giving an understanding of how we want to play, we have to work on him, how we want him to be positioned in that moment, how to perform with our principles out of possession, and this just needs time. But he seems to be in a good place, so he will be in the squad and everyone who is in the squad is an option to start the game.”
Brighton will need to be at their best to challenge Tottenham’s defense, and Hurzeler’s tactical decisions will be crucial in determining the outcome of the match. With a mix of experienced players and emerging talents, the Seagulls are poised to give Spurs a competitive encounter.
