Ki-Jana Hoever
Ki-Jana Hoever, the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, is eager to make a significant impact under the guidance of new manager Vitor Pereira. After last appearing for Wolves in March 2022, Hoever has spent time on loan at PSV, Stoke, and Auxerre, amassing nearly 100 appearances. The 23-year-old has been actively participating in pre-season, showcasing his versatility by playing as both a right-back and right centre-half, and even assisting in a match against Burnley.
Ki-Jana Hoever said: “I’ve loved every minute of it so far, just to be playing with the boys, getting my opportunity. I’m in a good mind space, ready to give my all every time, and that’s all I can do. It’s a new manager for me, and it’s been good so far. I enjoy working with the team, but also with the staff. They really try to get me to the next level. I feel like they really gave me an opportunity this time and I’m trying to do well. I think this coach and the way we want to play suits me. So, hopefully I can be involved.”
He continued: “He just tries to improve me as a player. That’s the most important. It’s still early in pre-season but he gives me a chance to show myself and I’m trying to do my best and take it. I really love to work with him and with the staff. I hope I can be important for them as well, for the club. I know I’ve been away for some years but, for me, it’s a big opportunity.”
Hoever’s enthusiasm and determination to succeed under Pereira’s management are evident. Having joined Wolves at the age of 18, Hoever is now looking to establish himself as a key player for the club. His pre-season performances, including his versatility in defense, have been promising, and he hopes to capitalize on the opportunity provided by the new coaching staff. With a positive mindset and a strong work ethic, Hoever aims to secure a place in the first team and contribute significantly to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ upcoming season.
