Dan Ndoye
Nottingham Forest is on the verge of securing a significant transfer as they close in on the signing of Bologna winger Dan Ndoye. The club has been actively seeking reinforcements following the departures of Anthony Elanga and Ramon Sosa, and the potential exit of Jota Silva. Ndoye has been a primary target for Forest, who have been competing with Napoli for the Swiss international’s signature. The move to the City Ground now seems imminent.
Fabrizio Romano said: “Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between clubs and player side. €40m plus add-ons, player due to travel to England in the next 24h for medical. (Evangelos) Marinakis wanted a top signing to replace Elanga, Ndoye said yes to #NFFC. Now done.”
Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, was reportedly prepared to personally oversee negotiations to ensure the deal was completed. Initially, Forest had a €30 million (£26m) bid rejected for the 24-year-old, but they remained steadfast in their pursuit. Bologna had set a €45 million (£38m) price tag, but Forest successfully negotiated it down to €40m (£34.6m). Ndoye had already agreed to personal terms with Forest, with a five-year contract and a substantial salary reportedly on the table.
Bologna’s sporting director, Marco Di Vaio, had previously indicated that the club was open to extending Ndoye’s contract. However, Forest’s determination and the player’s willingness to join the Premier League side have moved the transfer forward.
Marco Di Vaio said: “We’re talking to him about the possibility of extending and improving his contract; he’s open to it, and we’re happy about that.”
The anticipated arrival of Ndoye is a strategic move for Nottingham Forest as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The club’s proactive approach in the transfer market underscores their ambition to compete at a higher level. With Ndoye’s addition, Forest hopes to fill the void left by recent departures and bolster their attacking options. This transfer saga highlights Forest’s commitment to securing top talent and their readiness to make bold moves in the market.
