Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken a significant step forward in their football operations by appointing Domenico Teti as the club’s director of professional football. Teti arrives with a wealth of experience garnered from his work across Europe and the Middle East, and he will be instrumental in refining the club’s strategy and planning around professional and first-team football.
Domenico Teti said: “I am truly excited to join the Wolverhampton Wanderers family and to feel the passion of its fans, who embody the soul and spirit of this historic club. It is an honour to be part of something so special. I look forward to working with (executive chairman) Jeff (Shi), (head coach) Vitor (Pereira), and the rest of the staff and players, contributing to the development of a passionate, forward-thinking, and proactive football culture.”
Teti’s appointment is part of a broader restructuring within the club’s leadership. Matt Jackson has been named director of player recruitment and development, a newly-defined role where he will collaborate closely with Teti and other senior executives. His responsibilities will extend to overseeing the academy and Wolves Women, reflecting the club’s commitment to holistic development.
The leadership team also includes Phil Hayward, who has been appointed as the director of performance. Hayward will lead the club’s integrated approach to sports science, psychology, player health, and wellbeing. Meanwhile, Matt Wild continues his long-standing role as director of football operations and administration, ensuring the financial efficiency and governance of the football business.
Teti’s international background and senior-level experience are expected to bring fresh insights and strengthen the structure supporting head coach Vitor Pereira and the first-team environment. This strategic move underscores Wolverhampton Wanderers’ ambition to cultivate a forward-thinking and dynamic football culture, aligning with the club’s long-term vision.
