In a recent match, City took the lead with two goals from Phil Foden, only to concede twice in the last 15 minutes of the game. Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard were the ones to equalize the score, dashing City’s hopes of securing their third consecutive League win.
After the game, City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, singled out Josko Gvardiol and Stefan Ortega for their mistakes that led to the goals. However, he also praised their overall performance.
Guardiola said, “How good he played. He played an incredible game. We talked about one action but it’s the same with Ortega – I said how good he played, how good he passed to Erling, how satisfied I am with especially these two players.”
Guardiola also commented on the team’s inability to defend against the opponents’ attacks, attributing it to fatigue and the lack of certain skills among the holding midfielders.
“And our holding midfielders do not have the skills to defend these type of balls because we have another type of player right now. At the end we could not defend. I’m incredibly satisfied with the performance. Of course we are sad because we were close to winning and could not win but sometimes it happens,” Guardiola said
