The Blues are winless after their opening five matches but have gone unbeaten in their last three games. They drew at home with Fulham in a match they could have won, held firm for a 0-0 draw at in-form Brighton, and then snatched a point at the death against Southampton on Saturday. They currently sit 17th in the early Premier League table, two points clear of the drop zone. Reflecting on the three-game unbeaten run, Town’s talented young manager said:
Kieran McKenna said “Three games, two of them away, each presenting its own challenge, as they always will, with their own story. Last week’s point was different from this one. At Brighton, we were defending and looking to secure a point. Today, there are definitely areas where we can improve over time. But while we’re still working on our execution in all phases, it’s more important to build the foundations of a successful group – things like never giving up and showing resilience. We’ve shown those qualities over the last couple of weeks. It’s always nice to come away with something from away games.”
