West Ham has completed a permanent deal to sign Tomas Soucek from Slavia Prague on a four-year deal, much to the delight of the fans and the manager David Moyes. The 25-year-old has been a shrewd acquisition on loan in January by David Moyes, who has moved quickly to tie the midfielder down until 2024 for a fee believed to be around £19million after a hugely successful six-month stint in the capital.
David Moyes said “When I came in, we talked about needing another midfield player, to help Declan Rice and Mark Noble, and I think he’s been a really good fit for us, He’s a terrific lad with very good physical capabilities. He has scored some really important goals for us, against Chelsea, Newcastle and Watford. We’re glad he’s going to be a West Ham player for a good period to come.”
