Is Sheffield United’s win over Arsenal a ‘big result’ ?
Chris Wilder felt win over Arsenal was “a big result” for Sheffield United as they finally turned performances into points at Bramall Lane. Before the game there was much talk about the need to start taking full advantage with results at the home of the Blades and thanks to a first-half goal from Lys Mousset, they were able to do so in an exciting Monday-night match.
The blades manager said “I was delighted last time out at home (a narrow 1-0 defeat to Liverpool) in terms of the performance but we didn’t marry it up with a big result. That happened against Leicester and Southampton. You’re in it to gain points whatever way you do that and especially as a promoted club ever point is precious. It’s been a great night for us. That’s what we’re in the division for, days and nights like this – Everton away and Arsenal at home”
Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Sheffield United has been the standout team of 3 promoted this season. They look balanced in every way possible to survive in the league even though points and performances like Chris Wilder mentioned are not reconciling. Apart from Chelsea, Sheffield United has looked the most honest and hard working team who are willing to give 100% to manager and club until the final whistle. This is what Premier League and soccer is all about… PREMIER LEAGUE FANS hope to see the club and manager do well this season and survive to play and entertain us more..

Is misfiring Felipe Anderson concerned ?
Last season, in Felipe Anderson’s debut campaign in the Premier League after his £36m move from Lazio, the winger bagged himself ten goals and five assists in 40 games in all competitions. It was hoped that current season , 2nd for manager Pelligrini as well will see the best of their Brazilian livewire – Felipe Anderson.
Against Everton on the weekend, Anderson was as poor as he’s been for the Irons. He only managed the first-half before Andriy Yarmolenko was brought on to replace him and in those minutes he was dispossessed three times, took four poor first touches and committed a foul on his way to a half-time substitution. A half time substitution without any injury means manager agreed with the viewers about his player’s performance and took a proactive step to replace him .
Premier League Museum Editor Notes: Felipe Anderson, a winger is phenomenal when he’s on his day, and his stats across his career certainly back that up. Premier League fans would like to know from the player if there is anything bothering him personal or professional as he needs to start showing his class on the pitch as soon as possible to PREMIER LEAGUE FANS.

Why is Aston Villa midfielder Nakamba getting praised ?
Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is enjoying a good start to life at Aston Villa following his summer move from Club Brugge. Since the goalless draw with West Ham last month where the Zimbabwe international made his debut, Nakamba has made six appearances for the claret and blue, playing a key role in Dean Smith’s midfield.
Nakamba’s international team mate, Alec Mudimu, has made five appearances alongside the Villa midfielder for Zimbabwe. The 24-year-old said he’s not surprised to see Nakamba thriving so much in the Premier League with Villa, adding that it is good for the club and his country. He added “Of course, it’s difficult to jump straight into the English Premier League but he (Nakamba) has settled fantastically and is slowly becoming a real household name at Aston Villa, which is great for him I’m sure and, of course, Zimbabwe”.
Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have been treated with some great entertaining football, on the field and off the field soccer Stories from Zimbabwean players. Most notable being those below –
- Benjani – Portsmouth, Manchester City, Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers – 2005–11
- Bruce Grobbelaar – Liverpool, Southampton – 1992–96
- Peter Ndlovu – Coventry City – 1992–97

How can Tottenham recover from dreadful form ?
All eyes will be on the Tottenham team-sheet after yet another result to forget over the weekend in English Premier League. The Lilywhites were well beaten at Brighton & Hove Albion prior to the international break and were lucky to leave the Amex having only conceded the three, before only just salvaging a late draw against Watford. While it was worrying in the game was how easy it was for Quique Sanchez Flores’ team up against Spurs’ experienced backline, many suggestions have been offered for Tottenham to recover from dreadful form.
A number of fans have called for wholesale changes at the back.Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are so far from their best at present and, as things stand, on their way out of the club in the summer, with Serge Aurier and Danny Rose just not up to scratch and also looking likely to be heading for the exit. Juan Foyth or Kyle Walker-Peters could start at right-back in place of the Ivorian, while you would expect Ben Davies to get his chance on the opposite flank. Davinson Sanchez, who was sacrificed at the break on Saturday as the team looked for a way back into the game, could be back in the starting XI and named alongside one of Alderweireld or Vertonghen. Japhet Tanganga could be given chance in the team after an impressive pre-season and senior debut against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup. Eric Dier is another who could go into the backline and he may be the one that Pochettino considers before naming his team.
Premier League Museum Editor Notes: PREMIER LEAGUE FANS have been entertained for last 4 years by Spurs like no other team before or probably Ardiles team when Osvaldo Ardiles with team of Jürgen Klinsmann, Ilie Dumitrescu and Gheorghe Popescu had entertained us. Like we covered in previous blog, we don’t know what went behind the scenes in transfer market but Pochettino would have learnt if not from previous greats like Sir Alex Ferguson that squad refresh is vital every 3-4 years.

Why Jamie Vardy should be considered phenomenal ?
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers continues to rave about his star striker, who has 15 goals in 19 Premier League games since the Northern Irishman took charge of the Foxes.
Rodgers said “Jamie Vardy’s goalscoring exploits are even more “phenomenal” now he does not have Riyad Mahrez to create for him. In the title-winning season he had a world-class player in Mahrez who could service him. Vardy has been at his clinical best this term with 40 per cent conversion rate the highest of players to have scored at least three goals – and he has needed to be with fewer opportunities falling his way this season. His numbers are phenomenal. He is always ready, and playing against teams that sit deep he can still find a way to score a goal. His idea of football, he’s always there, he’s always bright, he’s always alert. It’s a great bit of skill by Harvey Barnes to cross and put it into the box with that quality, but to read it and leap like he did, he showed his power and his hunger to score goals”
Premier League Museum Editor Notes: For PREMIER LEAGUE FANS , Jamie Vardy is already a legend as we have seen in his super exploits with consecutive matches to score goals, consistently bullying the defense and scoring season after season level which takes a huge amount of concentration. Unfortunate that more trophies apart from maiden title did not come his way but Vardy will always remain in English Premier League folklore.
