Mikel Arteta has admitted that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale got Arsenal “out of trouble” at a key moment during their defeat of Leicester City on Sunday evening. A stunning save from Ramsdale denied Harvey Barnes a goal from a header and protected Arsenal’s 1-0 lead.
Mikel Arteta said: “He had a great save on Barnes’ header in a crucial moment when we were 1-0 up. That’s when you need your goalkeeper to come up and get you out of trouble. He certainly did it today again.”
City manager Brendan Rodgers also had words of praise for Ramsdale after the match,
Brendan Rodgers said: “For me he’s the best English keeper at the moment. He’s top. His progression since he came to Arsenal, he’s dealt with that really well. He’s got a really nice calmness to his game.”
