Neal Maupay has revealed why did not celebrate his superb goal against Brentford. The striker found the top corner against his old club to secure a 2-0 success at the Amex.
Neal Maupay said: “They are the club who gave me my chance four years ago. Nobody wanted to sign me in France. They called me and asked me to come over to England. I didn’t know anything about England. I respect them so much. Everything they have done for me, everything they have done for a lot of players.”
Victory ended a run of 11 without a win, most of which have been drawn.
Neal Maupay added: “We haven’t won in a long time. Everyone was talking about it. It was a good performance overall from the team and we are really happy to get that win finally. I think it’s crucial for us. When you don’t win in a while people start talking. All of a sudden you’ve got a bit more pressure, even though we just tried to stay focussed on our goals. I think that will give us some rest. It’s a busy period, a crazy time. It’s a good night for us but we need to recover quick and get back to work.
