The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing, both in England and around Europe as clubs make changes at the top ahead of the new season. Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Celtic are among the clubs all looking for a new manager over the next few weeks. The Aston Villa assistant has opened up about his future at the club, saying that his end goal is to manage Chelsea one day. Although he has said that it would take ‘something special’ to prise him away from Villa Park.
John Terry said: “My ambition is very, very clear. There’s an end goal for me and that’s managing Chelsea Football Club. But I’m not just going to jump into anything. I’ve turned down two jobs since I’ve been here. Decent-sized clubs. But it’s going to take something special for me to leave here. I’ve got one more year left at Villa. I’m in a privileged position because I’m in no rush. I want to be a number one but I’ll get there at some point.”
