Michail Antonio got his seventh West Ham goal in nine matches across all competitions so far this season when he netted the winner against Spurs on Sunday afternoon and has been widely praised for his form. David Moyes did not go quite as far as Cresswell but when asked if Antonio can hit at least 15 league goals this season the manager was confident he can.
David Moyes said: “Well, I hope he does because we need our forwards to come up with goals. However, the manager wants to ensure the team are not too reliant on Antonio. We know we rely on Mich a lot,” he added., “but with the form of Jarrod Bowen recently and Said [Benrahma], how well he has adapted to the Premier League. Pablo [Fornals] as well. And we will have Niki Vlasic coming in shortly as well and the likes of [Andriy] Yarmolenko as well – we need them all to contribute to the goal tally. But all credit to Mich today getting another goal being Johnny on the spot is a great thing.”
