Hwang Hee-chan has given his verdict after recently arriving at Molineux on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Hwang Hee-chan said “The Premier League is the biggest league in the world where all footballers dream to play and this is the league where all fans go crazy over. I just feel blessed to play for Wolves and myself and my family are all enjoying our life here,” he told Wolves’ club media.
In his four league appearances thus far, the 25-year-old has scored three times, including twice in the 2-1 home triumph over Newcastle.
Hwang Hee-chan said “I feel extremely delighted to score in one of the biggest leagues and win the game. I feel happy to help the team get what we needed and help secure the win. We had no win at home this season, but because of the amazing support from the fans I really wanted to win this game and by achieving it, we gave everyone a very happy day.”
Bruno Lage’s men secured their second successive win against Newcastle and Hee-chan became the first Wolves’ player to score a brace since Diogo Jota in February 2020. Striker Raul Jimenez was paired with the 25-year-old and assisted him twice. Hee-chan explained what contributed to the win –
Hwang Hee-chan said “For the past two weeks, we went through great training sessions, so both the team and the coaches were satisfied, which I believe led to the win. Myself and Raul had good conversations to build the chemistry but this is what the manager wants between the attackers and the midfielders. He tells me to move between the sides and the centre with Raul so he can make creative passes. This is all in the tactics.”
The South Korean international only featured 18 times for Leipzig last season but has found a new lease of life at Molineux. It hasn’t taken him long to settle into his new surroundings.
