Roy Keane had once again came under fire from the outspoken Nottingham Forest boss, Brian Clough. He was still upset that, while the Corkman was serving a suspension, they lost 3-0 in successive matches, and that during a brief visit to Jersey, Keane was involved in an incident which led to a hefty club fine.
Clough was adamant that such defeats would have been unthinkable had the brilliant Keane had been in the team and expressed the hope that the club’s most prized asset matured quickly and showed his true value against Leeds at the City Ground in the upcoming fixture.
