Oscar night is one night you can count on American icons and A-listers to be out in full-force. But what’s the Academy Awards without one of America’s biggest and brightest stars and yes, that included Christian Pulisic.
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has discussed the captaincy qualities of John Terry and Frank Lampard, describing the pair as ‘winners’.
Cesar Azpilicueta said “The first day I arrived he was ready to help me if I needed anything. I could see every day in training sessions his mentality, his way of competing. When I arrived Chelsea had just won the Champions League and all the trophies before that, but he still had this ambition and this hunger. It was the same with Frank when he captained. It’s something that tells you a lot. They were winners. They wanted to win in every training session and every game.”
Azpilicueta took over the Chelsea armband in the summer following the departure of Gary Cahill, the Spaniard currently the club’s longest-serving player having joined from Marseille back in 2012.
Frank Lampard has promoted promising midfielder to Chelsea first-team squad. Billy Gilmour has confirmed Frank Lampard has promoted him permanently into Chelsea’s first-team squad.
Billy Gilmour said “It’s a massive moment for me and I’m really happy. I went with the squad to Leicester and even though I wasn’t involved, the gaffer pulled me afterwards to tell me that after the winter break I’d be with the first-team permanently. It’s a dream come true for me. It’s the first big step I think, moving into the first team dressing room at a club like Chelsea. It’s massive for me.”
Lampard did not hide any frustrations with Chelsea’s inability to bolster their squad in the January transfer window, previously insisting the Blues are now “underdogs” for a top-four finish. The former England midfielder has moved quickly to promote Gilmour however, in yet another demonstration of his faith in the young talent emerging through the Stamford Bridge ranks.
