Kevin De Bruyne has returned to individual training as he continues to recover from injury. Manchester City have been without their talisman for the last five games since picking up an injury in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa three weeks ago. Pep Guardiola said at the time that De Bruyne could be out for ‘four to six weeks’, which would rule him out of the next four fixtures at least.

Pep Guardiola said: “He’s doing well. He’s already training – alone, not with the team – but he is moving well he’s feeling good about his injury.

Asked whether the Champions League game against Monchengladbach in a fortnight was a reasonable target for De Bruyne’s return to action, Guardiola refused to put a timeframe on the midfielder’s return.

Pep Guardiola said: “I cannot say. It’s day by day but what is important is he’s feeling good and we’ll see what the doctors say.”

Guardiola had previously confirmed that Sergio Aguero trained briefly with the first-team squad on Monday before continuing individual training as he builds up his match fitness, while Nathan Ake is still out with injury.
