Dejan Kulusevski Tottenham
Dejan Kulusevski, the Tottenham Hotspur attacker, has had a challenging year due to a problematic knee injury. However, recent social media posts suggest that the Swedish star is on the road to recovery. Kulusevski, who returned to watch Tottenham’s final match of the season alongside captain Cristian Romero, appears to be making strides in his rehabilitation.
Sweden’s national team doctor Jonas Werner said: “It’s been a long story with Dejan. He’s done everything he can to get ready, but when it came to deciding [if he would make the squad] he wasn’t. The reason is that he hasn’t played football in a year, but even the medical assessments made this spring have pointed in the direction that he wouldn’t be ready.”
Jonas Werner explained: “Cartilage injuries, like in Dejan’s case, are troublesome. They are difficult to treat. Plus, he has it in a place that gets a lot of stress. The injury simply hasn’t healed enough to handle that stress.”
Kulusevski’s recent Instagram activity included a video of his Sweden teammates boarding their flight to a World Cup training camp, accompanied by a motivational message. More notably, he shared an extended video clip of himself playing basketball, showcasing his ability to twist, turn, and accelerate on the court. This display of agility and movement was a positive sign for Tottenham supporters, indicating that Kulusevski is working hard to return to full fitness.
The Swedish international had been sidelined for a significant part of the season, missing out on Tottenham’s crucial final day victory against Everton, which secured their Premier League status under the management of Roberto De Zerbi. Despite the setbacks, Kulusevski’s determination to recover and his recent social media updates have provided hope for both the player and the club.
As Tottenham prepares for the upcoming pre-season, the potential return of Kulusevski will be eagerly anticipated. His presence on the field could be a significant boost for the team as they aim to improve their performance in the next Premier League campaign.
