Elliot Anderson
Nottingham Forest have turned down Manchester City’s opening bid for their star midfielder, Elliot Anderson, as the club holds out for a higher offer. Reports suggest that Forest are seeking over £100 million for the England international, who has garnered significant interest from top Premier League clubs.
Vitor Pereira said “I don’t have the answer. If you ask me if he deserves the best clubs in the world, he has a lot of quality, he is a talent. But he is our player and I am very happy with him. The market is the market, I cannot predict the market. I know we want to keep the same players, to bring two or three players to help us balance the squad. In the end, we’ll see.”
Since joining Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024, Anderson has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising young talents. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with both Manchester City and Manchester United expressing strong interest in acquiring his services. However, it is believed that Manchester United are hesitant to meet the nine-figure valuation set by Forest, and they suspect that Anderson would prefer a move to City over Old Trafford.
Anderson’s contributions to Forest’s campaign have been noteworthy. He featured in every Premier League match this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists. Additionally, he played a crucial role in Forest’s Europa League journey, which saw the team advance to the semi-finals. Despite the transfer speculation, Anderson’s immediate focus remains on the upcoming World Cup, where he will represent England.
The ongoing interest from Manchester City underscores Anderson’s rising profile in the football world. As the transfer window progresses, Nottingham Forest will be keen to secure the best possible deal for their prized asset, should he decide to leave the City Ground. With the World Cup on the horizon, Anderson’s future remains a topic of significant interest and speculation.
