Marco Rose
AFC Bournemouth’s new manager, Marco Rose, is set to bring three new staff members to the club as part of his backroom team. The club is currently in the process of finalizing contracts and visas for the trio. In his first interview with AFCB TV, Rose shared insights into his coaching philosophy and personal life.
Marco Rose said: “I met them in Leipzig, or Frank in Mönchengladbach. And that’s what we try to do. For me, the best place to be as a coach [is on the pitch], not in the office. I love to be on the pitch and I’m an intensive coach, sometimes a little bit over it, but I try to be always fair, and it’s about the players. It’s a players’ game, so yeah, we need to build a connection.”
Marco Rose continued: “To be honest, if you are in charge, it’s really hard to find time besides the football! I mean, I’m 49 now, getting towards 50. And I have experienced a lot of things, but it’s still very demanding to lead a team, to bring out the best possible performance out of the team. It needs time, and you’re responsible for a whole club, for the atmosphere and things like this. If I am free, I go for a round of golf, and that’s what I love. That’s what I started four years ago. Of course, I have a family, two girls, with our cat, three girls. My daughter turned 18 in February. My wife, she is a lawyer, and I try to spend as much time as possible with my family.”
Rose’s comments highlighted his commitment to hands-on coaching, emphasizing the importance of building a strong connection with players. His approach is centered on being present on the pitch, which he believes is crucial for fostering a player-focused environment. The new manager also acknowledged the challenges of balancing professional responsibilities with personal life, sharing that he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family when possible.
The addition of new staff members is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to AFC Bournemouth as they aim to enhance team performance. Rose’s leadership will be pivotal in creating a positive atmosphere within the club, ensuring that both players and staff are aligned with the club’s objectives.
