Hebburn Town is gearing up for its inaugural season in the National League North, marking a significant milestone for the club. Manager Daniel Moore has disclosed that he is in talks with Sunderland and Hartlepool United regarding potential loan deals to bolster his squad. This strategic move comes as Hebburn Town, recently crowned Northern Premier League Premier Division champions, prepares to compete at a higher level in the non-league system.
Daniel Moore said: “We are speaking to a lot of players at the moment but resources-wise, we are not in a position to do a lot at the moment. We’ve had some conversations with Sunderland and Hartlepool and I think getting promoted into the National League North means Newcastle might be an option and we know they’ll be looking to get players out and get them some experience. We don’t really want to rely on loans too much – but they have been successful for us in the past and we know we can help young players improve during their time with us so we will go down that route if we feel it works for us.”
The club’s recent success in the Northern Premier League Premier Division has set the stage for its entry into the National League North. This achievement was supported by contributions from Sunderland youngsters Jake Waters and Isaac Allan, who were on loan at Hebburn Town. Their performances were instrumental in securing the club’s promotion, highlighting the potential benefits of loan agreements.
Moore’s strategy to engage with Sunderland and Hartlepool United reflects a pragmatic approach to squad building, leveraging relationships with nearby clubs to access emerging talent. While Hebburn Town aims to develop its own players, the manager acknowledges the value of loan deals in providing young talents with essential match experience and aiding their development.
As Hebburn Town navigates the challenges of a higher league, the potential inclusion of players from Newcastle United could further enhance the squad’s depth and competitiveness. Moore’s openness to these collaborations underscores the club’s commitment to maintaining its upward trajectory while fostering player growth.
