Anton Stach, who joined Leeds United from Hoffenheim for £17 million this summer, has been making waves in his debut Premier League season. The midfielder scored his fifth goal of the campaign with a stunning long-range strike during Leeds’ 3-1 victory over Burnley on Friday. This win further cemented Leeds’ position in the league, showcasing the remarkable impact of manager Daniel Farke.
Anton Stach said: “He’s giving every player a lot of confidence. He has trusted me and thinks I can make a positive change to the game, so I’m very thankful when he trusts me in the starting XI. He’s an amazing manager.”
Anton Stach added: “I don’t know how much credit he gets but he should get some credit. We have played a really good season. Of course there are difficult periods, but I think it’s normal for a newly promoted side. When you don’t think about the Arsenal games, the rest we could have taken some points and I think he should 100 per cent get credit.”
Daniel Farke said: “It was very big from him and us as a group in general. The team, the management, coaches, staff – everyone stuck together in a difficult situation and we were not falling apart and not struggling. When you lose some games and it’s not working out really well… it’s easy when you are a good team when you win. When you lose a lot, then you can see if you are a good team. This is what we showed with everybody in the club.”
Leeds United’s journey this season has been remarkable, especially considering their position in the bottom three after a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City. That match marked a turning point when Farke switched to a back three system, a decision that has since paid dividends. Leeds have lost only four league games since and have remained unbeaten in the top flight since March 3. With three games remaining, they now sit comfortably on 43 points. The collective effort of the team, management, and staff has been pivotal in this turnaround, demonstrating resilience and unity in challenging times.
