Riccardo Calafioris
Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori has issued a bold statement regarding the potential of his teammates Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres, asserting that both players are poised to achieve even greater heights as the season unfolds. This comes in the wake of Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 triumph over Fulham, a match that saw Saka make a significant impact following his return from an Achilles injury.
Riccardo Calafiori said: “You’ve seen what he did and I still think he still needs to find his form back again. But he’s an unbelievable player and as I’ve said before, we want everyone available.”
Riccardo Calafiori added: “He’s one of our best players and he’s going to help us a lot, I’m pretty confident about that.”
Riccardo Calafiori continued: “I really like him. I think he changes the whole game when he plays. Even if he doesn’t touch the ball, it changes a lot for us. He’s doing really well. Obviously, when you’re a striker you want to score. When you score you’re even more confident about yourself.”
Calafiori’s comments highlight the growing influence of Saka and Gyokeres within Mikel Arteta’s squad. Saka, who marked his return with a goal and an assist, demonstrated his ability to impact the game significantly, while Gyokeres has been acknowledged for his game-changing presence, even amidst some criticism during his debut season.
Looking ahead, Arsenal’s focus shifts to their crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid. Calafiori emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong home atmosphere to capitalize on their advantage.
Riccardo Calafiori explained: “Obviously it’s a semi-final of the Champions League, so the level is going to be unbelievable and we have to use the fact that we’re playing at home. If the atmosphere is like today, then we’ll see.”
Riccardo Calafiori declared: “I don’t know. As I say, I’m just focusing on Tuesday because it’s too important for us.”
As Arsenal prepares for this pivotal clash, they also keep a close eye on the Premier League title race. Currently six points ahead of Manchester City, who have two games in hand, the Gunners remain in a strong position. Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures include a trip to West Ham, followed by home games against Burnley and Crystal Palace.
With the season reaching its climax, Calafiori’s optimism about Saka and Gyokeres could prove instrumental in Arsenal’s quest for success on both domestic and European fronts.
