Everton
Zara Kramzar, the Slovenian international midfielder, is gearing up for a significant challenge as she prepares to face Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park. Having joined Everton on loan from Roma in February, Kramzar is eager to score her first goal for the club, ideally in this high-stakes encounter. Her journey from playing in an all-boys team to making her international debut at 16 has been remarkable, and now she hopes to leave her mark in one of the most anticipated fixtures in women’s football.
Zara Kramzar said: “Personally, I want to score my first goal for Everton. It would be nice if it came against Liverpool. I’m ready for the physicality, it is part of the game, and I will try and make the best out of it.”
Kramzar’s determination to succeed is evident as she reflects on Everton’s recent performances and the rivalry with Liverpool.
Zara Kramzar said: “I think we should have won in the cup game last month. I think the will to win is even greater now because we didn’t beat them last time. I’ve only been here a short time, but like in many big cities, there is that rivalry. I think you can feel it, that it’s always blue and red, Everton and Liverpool.”
Despite being relatively new to the team, Kramzar has already experienced playing at Goodison Park and is looking forward to more opportunities to play in front of the home crowd.
Zara Kramzar said: “I’ve only played one game at Goodison Park so far, but I think it’s so nice that we get the opportunity to play at such a big stadium with such a big history. I’m looking forward to playing there a lot more and I hope we see a lot of Everton fans and a lot of blue in the stands.”
Kramzar’s journey into football was unconventional, starting with her being the only girl in an all-boys team. Her passion for the game has been a driving force in her career.
Zara Kramzar said: “From the beginning, I knew that I wanted to be in football for my whole life. I didn’t know what to expect abroad, but that’s what I was talking about, and I just wanted to go. I got an opportunity and I took it and I’d always do the same again.”
Reflecting on her move to Everton, Kramzar expressed her excitement about playing in the English league, which she regards as the best in the world.
Zara Kramzar said: “It’s England. I think it’s the best league in the world. At the moment, it’s growing so fast and everything is heading in this direction in women’s football. I think that English football is different. It’s much more intense and stronger.”
As Everton Women prepare for the Merseyside Derby, tickets for the match are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for juniors, with family tickets available for £20. The event promises to be a family-friendly occasion, with activities including a visit from the Easter Bunny.
