Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United’s young striker, Benjamin Sesko, has been making significant contributions from the bench under interim manager Michael Carrick. Despite being primarily utilized as a substitute, Sesko’s performances have earned him the label of a ‘super sub,’ a term that his agent, Elvis Basanovic, believes doesn’t fully capture the player’s potential. As Sesko continues to adapt to Premier League football, his impact is undeniable, and he is now pushing for more starting opportunities.
Elvis Basanovic said: “If you ask me about this name, I don’t like it. I like ‘super striker’ much more. I think Benjamin is a super striker. He scored half of his goals when he started the game and half when he came off the bench.”
Benjamin Sesko said: “They are getting me ready to start as soon as possible. It’s more about me showing up when it’s important, no matter how many minutes I’m getting, I’m focusing on delivering and trying to help the team secure the wins. I’m getting settled in the league from game to game. Again, I’m not even thinking about ‘I have to start, I have to start.’ For me it’s just whenever coach decides to put me there one time or not I’m just going to be there. If I get the next minutes, five minutes, I’m going to use them and for me it’s just about trying to enjoy and delivering for the team.”
Sesko’s recent performances have not gone unnoticed, as he came off the bench to play the final 19 minutes in United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. His ability to make an impact in limited time highlights his readiness to take on more significant roles. However, the club revealed that Sesko has been managing an injury, which led to his withdrawal from the Slovenia national team during the international break to focus on recovery. This decision aims to ensure his availability for Manchester United’s upcoming fixtures, including a crucial match against Leeds United at Old Trafford on April 13.
As Sesko continues to develop, his contributions from the bench have been vital for Manchester United. The young striker’s focus remains on delivering results for the team, regardless of his role, and his positive attitude towards adapting to the Premier League is commendable. With his agent advocating for a more fitting recognition of his talents, Sesko is poised to become a key player for United in the near future.
