Liam Rosenior
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior expressed optimism about the international break, seeing it as a pivotal moment for his players to regroup and strategize for the remainder of the season. This comes after a series of tough matches, including a recent defeat to Everton, which has placed Chelsea on their longest losing streak of the season.
Jorrel Hato said: “We had a few difficult games in a row so maybe it’s a good time now [to have the international break]. Everyone has the time for themselves to think about how we are going to do it after the break. But I still have a lot of belief in this squad and I think we will reach what we want to reach [this season].”
Jorrel Hato added: “It’s hard to say what it is, but with how painful it is, we have to take this one and look forward. We now have an international break, so everyone has time to think about the next games. We are still in the FA Cup, we can still reach what we want in terms of the top four [in the Premier League], so we have to look forward.”
Jorrel Hato continued: “No, I don’t think it’s a confidence issue because we went 1-0 down but we still created chances, we still had control of the game. Maybe in the beginning, the first 15 minutes, they were pressing well. But after that we had control of the game, we created chances and they were spending most of the time in the game very deep in their own half. But it was hard, it was difficult to score, and it was just not enough.”
Despite the recent setbacks, Rosenior remains confident in the team’s ability to achieve their goals, including a strong finish in the Premier League and success in the FA Cup. Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures after the break include a home match against Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final, followed by crucial Premier League encounters with Manchester City and Manchester United. These matches will be pivotal in determining Chelsea’s standing in both domestic competitions.
Rosenior’s comments highlight a belief in the squad’s resilience and potential, emphasizing that the break will allow players to reflect and return with renewed focus. The coach’s confidence in the team suggests that Chelsea is poised to bounce back and strive for success in the latter part of the season.
