Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has emerged as a standout performer for Everton this season, leading the team in goal involvements with six goals and five assists. The Nottingham-born player, who previously impressed at Leicester City, has quickly become a key figure at Goodison Park. His performances have caught the attention of former Everton player Jermaine Beckford, who has been vocal about Dewsbury-Hall’s impact.
Jermaine Beckford said: “I genuinely think Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the signings of the season. He’s been absolutely fantastic. He had a spell when he was out injured, and you could see what he brings to the team through his absence. He’s got a great eye for a pass and as we saw on Tuesday night, he knows where the back of the net is. I think he’s been a breath of fresh air. If you look at losing the creativity of Jack Grealish through injury, having someone like Kiernan in the middle of the pitch or when he drifts out wide, has eased the burden of not having Jack around. I’m a huge admirer of his, I think he’s been fantastic.”
Dewsbury-Hall’s contributions have been vital for Everton, especially in light of Jack Grealish’s injury absence. His ability to both score and assist has made him an indispensable player for the Toffees. Beckford, who joined Everton from Leeds United in 2010, has been particularly impressed with Dewsbury-Hall’s ability to fill the creative void left by Grealish.
In addition to his praise for Dewsbury-Hall, Beckford also shared his thoughts on Everton’s new home, Hill Dickinson Stadium. The former player expressed his admiration for the venue, highlighting its impressive acoustics and atmosphere.
Jermaine Beckford said: “As an arena, I think Hill Dickinson Stadium is phenomenal, it’s absolutely fantastic. They could do with a bit of help on the parking side of things, but as a stadium, it’s amazing. I love the view inside it and the sound, I love the acoustics, especially when the fans have got something to get behind and the boys on the pitch are giving them a performance to be proud of. The roar, the sound, there’s something special about it, it’s goosebump-esque. It’s not Goodison though is it? Goodison Park is historic for a number of reasons, it’s absolutely incredible. I was fortunate enough to have played there for Everton. To have witnessed it on the final day of it being the men’s team’s home ground and also seeing the first game of the new era at Hill Dickinson Stadium, it’s going to take a bit of time, like Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham, it’s going to take a bit of time for the football to match the ground itself, but I think Everton are well on their way.”
Beckford’s comments reflect a sense of nostalgia for Goodison Park while acknowledging the potential of Hill Dickinson Stadium to become a fortress for Everton. The transition to a new home is always challenging, but Beckford remains optimistic about the club’s future at their new venue.
