Michael Carrick Manchester United
Manchester United’s coaching staff, under the leadership of Michael Carrick, has been garnering widespread praise for their impressive work behind the scenes at Carrington. Since taking over as head coach in January, Carrick has swiftly assembled a team that includes former Premier League defenders Jonny Evans and Jonathan Woodgate. Both have made a notable impression on the squad, contributing significantly to the training sessions’ quality and intensity.
Noussair Mazraoui praised: “He’s really positive. He’s really, really clear. The whole staff is like on [a] line. They know what they want and they’re telling us what they want. Really clear and really positive, in a way which you really understand.”
Mazraoui added: “Yeah, that’s funny, of course, that change. Especially when I arrived, I knew him as my team-mate, and I have quite a good relationship with Jonny. I spoke a lot with him as a team-mate, but I already saw him [as more senior], like because of his age, the respect was really, really high. So, basically nothing really changed.”
Mazraoui continued: “He has a big history at the club. You see and you feel that in this type of coaching and the words he’s saying to us in his meetings. You really see that he knows the club, really feels the value of the club, because he has a great history here. He won big prizes, so he knows how it is in the good times, in the bad times, and you just see and feel that, and I think we also show that through these last games, of course. That’s not by luck or anything, that’s more quality and his understanding of the club rather than anything else.”
Carrick’s coaching team, which also includes former England assistant Steve Holland and academy graduate Travis Binnion, has been instrumental in Manchester United’s recent success. The team has won six and drawn one of Carrick’s first seven games in charge, showcasing their ability to deliver excellent results. The players have responded positively to the coaching staff’s clear and effective communication, which has fostered a cohesive environment at the club.
Jonathan Woodgate, known for his defensive expertise, has been particularly influential in working with the team’s defenders, while Jonny Evans has seamlessly transitioned from player to coach, maintaining strong relationships with the squad. The collective experience and understanding of the club’s culture have been pivotal in shaping the team’s performance on the pitch.
Carrick’s deep-rooted connection to Manchester United, coupled with his understanding of the club’s values, has resonated with the players, further enhancing their trust and respect for the coaching staff. This synergy has been reflected in the team’s recent performances, indicating a promising trajectory under Carrick’s leadership.
