Brentford’s manager, Keith Andrews, has solidified his future with the club by signing a new long-term contract, extending his stay in West London until 2032. The announcement comes ahead of Brentford’s upcoming visit to Turf Moor, where they will face Burnley. This extension reflects the club’s confidence in Andrews, who has made significant strides since taking the managerial role.
Brentford’s director of football, Phil Giles, said: “When Keith accepted the job last summer, he signed a three-year contract, but the intention was always that we’d review this at the earliest opportunity. Given our progress this season, I’m really happy that we have agreed this extension within the first nine months.”
Phil Giles continued: “Keith has done an outstanding job, the team are playing well and the things we thought we could be better at this season have all improved. He is a really good fit for the club and the way we like to work, as he is able to bring the best out of both players and staff alike.”
Giles added: “Keith Andrews has done a great job so far. Massively impressed and I know Keith pretty well. I’ve been in dialogue with Keith over many years really. Intelligent guy, someone who obviously has gone about his business and got to the level now where he is and has earned that right.”
He further praised Andrews: “This is not someone who’s been put in a position out of luck. This is someone who’s put in the hard graft and the hard yards to be in the position he’s in. So I have huge respect for Keith and he’s done an absolute fantastic job. A talented, talented coach, which we’re all seeing.”
Giles concluded: “Obviously going into a club as well, which is well-structured and that’s probably helped as well. But huge respect for Keith and what he’s doing. I look forward to seeing him in the weekend and having a chat as always.”
The decision to extend Andrews’ contract comes as no surprise given Brentford’s impressive performance this season. Under his leadership, the team has shown remarkable improvement in various aspects, aligning with the club’s strategic goals. Andrews’ ability to maximize the potential of both players and staff has been a key factor in Brentford’s progress, and the club is optimistic about the future under his guidance.
The extension of Andrews’ contract is a testament to his hard work and dedication, as well as the club’s commitment to long-term stability and growth. As Brentford prepares for their clash against Burnley, the focus will be on maintaining their strong form and continuing their upward trajectory in the league.
