Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall redeemed himself at Craven Cottage, helping his team secure a vital 2-1 victory over Fulham. The 27-year-old midfielder, who had missed a key opportunity against Brighton the previous week, made amends by scoring from inside the box, setting the stage for Everton’s comeback win. The Blues initially trailed following Vitalii Mykolenko’s own goal but rallied to claim all three points, with Dewsbury-Hall’s performance proving instrumental.
David Moyes said: “He’s given us a different level as a football player. He’s been so, so good. And I don’t think he is quite there [fully fit], he is just about there from where he’s been, he has played 90 minutes or so today. He missed a great chance at Brighton last week, and his goal today is very, very similar.”
Moyes continued: “I didn’t think we played well but I didn’t think we were [that] bad. We kept the ball quite well for the opening 10 minutes and then we did a couple of things which were wrong. Let’s be fair, the goal was really unlucky. It was a brilliant save by the goalkeeper and he pushes it onto Myko, so it was a bit of a misfortune.”
He further added: “I don’t disagree that Fulham were probably the better team in the first half but I don’t think they were that far in front of us. We did well to make sure it was only 1-0 at half time. Then I thought we played much better in the second half.”
Dewsbury-Hall’s resurgence is a significant boost for Everton, especially after his recent hamstring injury suffered in December against Chelsea. His ability to convert a crucial chance this time around not only showcases his determination but also highlights his growing influence within the team. The midfielder’s corner, which led to Bernd Leno’s own goal, further underlines his impact on the game.
Everton’s victory at Craven Cottage marks another impressive away performance, with Dewsbury-Hall at the heart of the action. As the team continues to build momentum, his form will be crucial in their quest for consistency and success in the Premier League.
