David Moyes
David Moyes, the manager of Everton, has been credited with revitalizing the career of a £100 million player who has found a new lease on life since moving to Merseyside. The player, who previously achieved significant success at Manchester City, has expressed his appreciation for Moyes’ straightforward management style, which has reignited his passion for the game.
The player said: “I love the manager to pieces. I’ve only known him a few months and I can’t speak highly enough of him as a person, how he makes me feel and how he makes me want to go and play for him.”
Moyes has also shared his perspective on the player’s progress since joining Everton.
David Moyes said: “I don’t think I’ve done an awful lot with Jack. The main thing is we’ve tried to give him a bit of love and the crowd here have done a brilliant job with him and taken to him. He’s been taken in right away and I think he’s played well to add to that. I’ve got no problem telling Jack straight and correctly, I don’t need to tell him any lies or b*****t, and he’s big enough and man enough to accept it whether it’s good or bad. You have to manage different players differently but I think most players like to be spoken to straightforward. But sometimes the truth is not what everyone wants to hear, but Jack wants the truth, Jack wants to be pushed and he’s responded to it.”
Moyes’ management approach has not only benefited the £100 million player but also another summer signing, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Dewsbury-Hall’s impressive performances have earned him a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award for November.
Moyes said: “It’s very difficult in the Premier League to get nominated for player of the month because of the quality of the players and some of the level the players are playing at. All credit to Kiernan. He’s getting us a couple of goals, he’s been playing well for us, and he had to play slightly deeper for us in midweek, and did well. We’re pleased, he’s been good, he’s good in dressing room good with the players, so we’re happy to have him.”
The upcoming match against Nottingham Forest at Hill Dickinson Stadium will mark Sean Dyche’s first return to Everton since his departure in January. Moyes acknowledged Dyche’s efforts during his tenure at the club.
Moyes said: “There’ll be lots of people able to tell you more about Everton over the past four or five years than myself but looking on from afar, it looked as though he steered the ship which was in big trouble – sinking – and he did a great job in making sure Everton stayed in the Premier League. I think there were a couple of seasons where he just had to avoid it, on the last day of the season. I think he did a brilliant job in what the situation was. When you look back, I hope we never have to go back to the situation Sean and the club had.”
Moyes’ candid approach and ability to manage players effectively have been instrumental in Everton’s recent successes. His leadership has not only rejuvenated individual players but also strengthened the team’s overall performance, setting a positive trajectory for the club.
