Tottenham Hotspur’s promising teenager Mikey Moore is poised to make his return to the pitch for Rangers following an injury setback. The young talent had been making strides on loan at the Scottish club, scoring his first goal against Dundee before being sidelined. Rangers manager Danny Rohl provided an update on Moore’s condition ahead of their upcoming match against Kilmarnock.
Danny Rohl said: “Mikey trained with us today and if there’s no reaction he will be back tomorrow in the squad. I think it’s good news.”
Moore had been forced to miss four matches due to an injury sustained during his international duty with England U19s. Before the setback, he had made 17 appearances for Rangers, contributing one goal and two assists. The young forward is eager to continue his development and help Rangers improve their standing in the Scottish Premiership and their Europa League campaign.
Mikey Moore said: “It was a difficult start for me and I don’t think I showed anywhere near what I know I can do. Mentally it’s been unbelievable for me because it’s a massive club and I think it’s strengthened me up a lot because it’s probably the toughest time I’ve been through.”
Moore’s comments reflect his determination to make the most of his loan spell at Rangers. Despite speculation about a possible return to Tottenham, the teenager remains focused on his current role in Glasgow.
He added: “I was never ready to go back. I always knew that at some point it would change and I’ve changed it for myself a little bit in the last few weeks, but I need to keep building and playing even better than I am. I think it helps me being in that role. I always want to be involved in the game as much as possible and I like to get in the pockets. I can play wide but I think I’ve had a bit of a mix of both, so I’m enjoying the role I’ve been given.”
Moore’s return comes at a crucial time for Rangers as they look to climb the league table and make an impact in European competitions. His versatility and eagerness to contribute will be valuable assets as he aims to make a significant impact during his first senior loan move.
