Stefanos Tzimas
Brighton’s promising Greek forward, Stefanos Tzimas, has been making waves with his recent performances during the international window. Tzimas scored twice for the club’s under-21s in a friendly against a PFA XI and added another two goals against Oxford United in the Carabao Cup. As Brighton prepares to face Bournemouth, Tzimas is pushing for a spot in the Premier League squad.
Tzimas said: “They take care of us very much, the way they work on us to prepare us. They don’t want to burn us. In general, so far we have a very good treatment.”
Tzimas added: “It helps that we have such experienced players in the team, so whatever we need is there to ask for advice on any concerns we have. Football is not only physical, it is also mental. You have to be very strong mentally to manage all this.”
The departure of Matt O’Riley on loan to Marseille has potentially opened up a spot for an attacking player on Brighton’s bench. This could provide an opportunity for Tzimas to showcase his talent in the Premier League. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler is expected to provide a squad update from the training ground on Friday morning, emphasizing a cautious approach with Tzimas and his compatriot Charalampos Kostoulas.
Both Tzimas and Kostoulas have been patient, working diligently towards earning their Premier League debuts. Their integration into the team has been carefully managed to ensure they are ready for the demands of top-flight football. Tzimas’s recent form and the club’s strategic approach could see him make the leap to the senior squad soon.
