Everton Hill Dickinson
Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock is poised to become a hub for major events, including concerts and boxing shows. The club is advancing plans to host such events, following the success of similar ventures at Anfield. The stadium, which will soon host its first match featuring David Moyes’ squad against Roma, is expected to significantly boost revenue through these activities.
Everton said: “Outdoor concerts and events from 2025 and beyond.”
The club is actively pursuing a premises licence from the city council to enable the hosting of live and recorded music, dance, and similar entertainment events. The application includes a request for a 3am limit, although entertainment in the stadium bowl will conclude by 11pm in line with general licensing conditions. For boxing or wrestling shows, the club seeks permission to operate until 11pm, with a terminal hour of 3.30am for other activities.
In addition to concerts, Everton plans to utilize The Plaza, an outdoor space with a capacity for up to 17,000 guests, for large-scale events. This move is part of a broader strategy to maximize the stadium’s potential as a venue for various non-matchday events, including conferences, trade shows, and exhibitions.
The new stadium represents a significant shift for Everton, who recently bid farewell to Goodison Park after 133 years with a 2-0 victory in their final game. The transition to Hill Dickinson Stadium is seen as a pivotal step in the club’s development, both on and off the pitch.
With the application for the premises licence underway, Everton is keen to follow in the footsteps of Anfield, which has successfully hosted sold-out shows by major artists such as Dua Lipa, Lana del Rey, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift. The club’s ambition is to bring similar high-profile acts to the banks of the Mersey, enhancing the cultural and economic landscape of the area.
The date for the council’s decision on the licence application is yet to be confirmed. However, the club’s proactive approach in securing bookings for non-matchday events indicates a strong commitment to leveraging the new stadium’s capabilities for diverse entertainment offerings.
