Norwich showed no signs of suffering from a European hangover as they completed a deserved victory against an outclassed Coventry side. The canaries moved up to fourth place in the Premiership with a display which deserved far more than just a single goal victory.
But the winner – well into first-half injury time was fitting. As Ian Crook found Ruel Fox with a precise pass and he outpaced Coventry left-back Paul Williams before sending an angled drive past the right hand of Steve Ogrizovic. Norwich should have added to their goal and twice their top scorer Efan Ekoku was completely in the clear to be denied by Ogrizovic.
Man of the match Chris Sutton saw the Coventry keeper deny him on at least three occasions.
