Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is optimistic about Son Heung-min’s return for the match against Aston Villa on Sunday, scheduled for a 2pm kick-off. Son, who had been sidelined and missed games against Manchester United, Ferencvaros, and a loss to Brighton, made his comeback against West Ham earlier this month. Ahead of Spurs’ Carabao Cup clash against Manchester City on Wednesday, Postecoglou provided an update on the team’s injury status.
Ange Postecoglou said, “Sonny, he is almost fit, but from our perspective we will aim him for the weekend. We are quite confident he will be right for the weekend. The only one who is missing out is Wilson [Odobert]. He has had a setback during the week and it seems like it is a serious one [injury]. We are waiting for more information. That is the only one that is disappointing. From the weekend, everyone is OK and Djed [Spence] is back training.”
On the other hand, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is not facing any injury concerns as they prepare for their Carabao Cup fourth round tie with Crystal Palace. Key players, including Boubacar Kamara, who is set for his first start since February, and Tyrone Mings, who is eyeing his first appearance in 445 days after recovering from an ACL injury, are gearing up for action. Villa fans are hopeful for a winning streak this week.
