What Unai Emery said about Ezri Konsa’s injury as Aston Villa boss gives Man United draw verdict

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery addressed the challenges his team is facing following their 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Villa Park. The match came shortly after their midweek victory against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Key players such as John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey, and Amadou Onana were absent from the lineup, and although Leon Bailey started, he was not fully fit.

Speaking about the team’s current situation and Ezri Konsa’s injury, Emery expressed a mix of hope and challenge due to the injuries and the busy schedule.

Unai Emery said “I don’t know, hopefully it’s not a lot. Hopefully he can rest in the international break. We can have some days off [in the international break] we can recover our energy and try to push in the next month.”

Reflecting on the match result,

Unai Emery said  “It is not the best result but it’s not the worst. I think a draw is fair. We played the second half much better than the first and at the end we were close to winning the match. We had two chances at the end of the game, we tried to score but couldn’t. I think a draw is fair.”

He further elaborated on the need for recuperation and team effort

Unai Emery said “Maybe today we needed some refreshed players. And we have some players injured. But the players we have they respond really well.”

Emery also emphasized the importance of teamwork as they navigate the demands of the season:

Unai Emery said “We will need the players helping.”

The international break seems to be a crucial period for Villa to regroup and recover their energy before facing upcoming challenges in their schedule.
