Blackburn Star Alan Shearer not worried about lack of goals
Blackburn Rovers striker Alan Shearer was not worried about his sudden barren spell in front of the goal and believed that it was just a matter of time before the goals would come back. He also thought that he and Arsenal’s Ian Wright were more than enough to blast apart Turkey in the upcoming international match. “If you let it get to you, you end up trying too hard and that affects your performance.” Said the £3 million strikers who had drawn blank for his last four matches, He had scored 16 goals in the 13 matches before that.

Past, present, and future of Merseyside and Manchester come together in Graeme Sharp Testimonial match
In one of the less intense football matches played between Manchester and Merseyside, host of stars came together for Graeme Sharp’s testimonial match were legends of Everton and Liverpool came together to play a team of legends hailing to Manchester United & Manchester City. The Merseyside team won the match 6-4. Some of the names involved in the match were Kenny Dalglish and Steve Nicol from Liverpool, Ian Snodin and Graeme Sharp of Everton, Steve Bruce, Brian McNair and Bryan Robson from United and Rick Holden from City.

Another premier league star drops out of the international fixture as Lee Dixon was doubtful for England v Turkey
Concerns over the number of premier league players missing out on international matches were increasing as England manager Graham Taylor had another player on the cusp of pulling out of the match against Turkey. Lee Dixon of Arsenal had not declared his fitness after a calf strain. Paul Parker, Dixon’s understudy already had pulled out of the match with a sciatica problem.

Premier League players dominate Republic of Ireland annual awards
Premier League players dominated the annual football awards hosted by the Republic of Ireland football association. Even though the player of the year award did not stay with the premier league this season after Paul Mcgrath of Aston Villa had won it in 1991. In other categories, Terry Phelan the Manchester City fullback fought off close competition from Roy Keane of Nottingham Forest and Steve Staunton of Aston Villa. The under 21 players of the year award went to Norwich striker Lee Power and Tony Sheridan of Coventry City took the youths award.
