The 2021/22 campaign has been finished for over a week now and the future of Tielemans seems more likely to be away from the King Power Stadium. In March, Tielemans admitted he “does not worry” about speculation linking him with a move away from the King Power Stadium. Speaking whilst on international duty with Belgium ahead of a friendly with Ireland in Dublin,
Youri Tielemans said: “I don’t worry about it. I want to get the most out of myself this season and finish as high as possible with the team. Of course I want to play in the Champions League, like any footballer. Am I ready for a European top club? I’m ready to get the best out of my career. We’ll see what happens next summer, or the summer after that.”
Youri Tielmans added: “There is no update really. I’m open to everything. The transfer market has just closed. I just try to keep as much options as I can open. As long as I’m here, I’m going to give everything to the club, I have already done so, but I’m going to give even more. The contract situation is just something that is going on in football. It’s just a normal situation. There are talks going on. I’m not saying I’m going to sign, but I’m not saying I’m not going to sign.”
