Matt Targett is wary of Manchester City after the champions were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek. A dramatic exit to Real Madrid leaves the Premier League as the last piece of silverware Pep Guardiola can win this season. City lead Liverpool by just one point despite being 14-points clear of the Reds in January. The pressure is mounted on the star-studded outfit to react against Newcastle and Targett knows the Magpies will be facing a wounded animal.
Matt Targett said: “They’ll be hurting for sure because over the two legs I think they’ve done more than enough to get through to the final. They’ll be hurting a lot but they can’t dwell on that as they know because they pretty much need to win every game to win the league because Liverpool are right on their tails. It’s going to be a good run-in and it‘ll be interesting to see what happens.”
