Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo from his current all-time greatest five a side team as Virgil van Dijk, Lionel Messi, Neymar and N’Golo Kante made his side. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was omitted from the Belgians mini-squad during a chat with former United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Kevin de Bruyne said: “Messi’s going to be there for me, Neymar is going to be there for me. Kante… I need [N’Golo] Kante. I’m going to say Virgil van Dijk, for five-a-side I’m going to go for Bernardo then. In small spaces he’s unbelievable. He reminds me a bit of David [Silva]. He’s a wind-up, winds a lot of people up, people hate that about him. He gives you a little bit of everything and with the team that I have that fits him perfectly. His quality this year has been unbelievable. I think he’s up there [with the best in the world]. He was unbelievable before his injury, obviously he had his ACL. He came back to a real high level. It’s very difficult always to say ‘he’s better than this one…’ but he’s probably top three in the world alongside Ruben [Dias] and some other players. I think he deserves it.
