Patrick Vieira has not ruled out dipping into the transfer market in January to improve the Crystal Palace squad. The Eagles will be without Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew and Cheikjou Kouyate for the majority of January due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations, while the team has also been knocked back by a handful of positive Covid cases this week. Vieira admitted that the Covid-19 scenario was making it difficult for the club to try and find the right players but said he wanted to make improvements nonetheless.
Patrick Viera said: “It is really difficult to find players in that period of the year. But we are also going through a difficult period trying to identify players because of the [Covid] situation. We are working and we will try to improve the squad. But we will bring players only if those players will improve the squad.”
Before the transfer window opens though Crystal Palace have two more games left in 2021 with which to deal with, starting with the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Boxing Day to take on Antonio Conte’s Spurs.
