Everton defender Yerry Mina has confirmed he will be leaving the club this summer. The Colombia international arrived at Goodison Park back in 2018, joining from Barcelona in a deal worth €30.25m.
Mina, 28, had not featured at all under new manager Sean Dyche until the 5-1 win away at Brighton last month. Since then he has started the games against Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But in a heartfelt video message posted on his Instagram tonight, Mina confirmed tomorrow’s match at home to Bournemouth will be his last.
Yerry Mina said: “Hello Toffees, I hope you are good. I have a message and invitation for you. This Sunday I will play my last game for Everton Football Club. It’s time to say goodbye after five years together. I want to say thank you, for your support and love. It has been a privilege and honour to wear this shirt and represent you. For this reason I invite you all to attend this ‘Last Dance’ at Goodison Park, this last battle that we have to fight. We need your help and your fight. Because together we are going to stay in the Premier League, where this great club should always be. It will be a special moment, full of emotion and memories. I am sure that we will make it. Come on boys. Last push. Come on boys. We are together. Yes Toffees!”
Mina’s contract with Everton comes to an end this summer and he will leave as a free agent. The Blues know that victory against Bournemouth in Sunday’s 4.30pm kick off will guarantee Premier League survival. Anything less than three points potentially opens the door for Leicester City and Leeds United to climb above Everton, depending on how their matches against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur finish.
