Danny Drinkwater remains hopeful that Aston Villa will find themselves in the Premier League next season, and in seasons to come – but changes must be made at the club. The midfielder, on loan from Chelsea, arrived at Villa Park in the January transfer window and, prior to the lockdown, had featured four times for the Lions in the Premier League. In that time, Drinkwater – who won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016 – has come to discover the size of Villa and has enjoyed his time in the Second City, despite the club’s current plight.
Danny Drinkwater said “I hope so…it’s a great club, Some changes needed and hopefully the club will be in the Prem for many years to come. Difficult . . . I expected to do a few runs, train hard and play, The gaffer had a certain way and believed in his team. (There is) a great bunch of lads at that club who had a very good team spirit.”
