Frank Lampard insists all Premier League managers are happy to finish the season – even those in danger of being relegated. Several teams in the Premier League have been demonised by their rivals for speaking out against some of the proposals put forward by Project Restart. And Lampard, whose Chelsea side are chasing a top-four finish, insists that all managers expressed a desire to complete the campaign during a recent meeting.
Frank Lampard said “That was really clear from the managers meeting we had last week. We’ve got players who want to play football. All of us, it’s our job. We’re very fortunate to have this job and we want to finish it. I think the feeling of, it might be whether you’re involved in a relegation battle or towards the top of the league, we all felt that when we’d finished we were so into it. When we’ve seen so many things around the country and around the world, much more important things happening than football, I think that’s been a bit of a reset for all of us. But what remains is we want to finish this season. The most important thing is when it’s safe and healthy for players, for staff. The fans won’t be coming but will it change things in society? The police, the NHS. All these things need to come together and hopefully we can get our game back.”
