Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who recently transitioned from Leicester City to Chelsea, celebrated a significant milestone by scoring his first goal for the club in their Conference League win over Gent. Despite Enzo Maresca, the head coach, making 11 changes to the squad that previously defeated Brighton in the Premier League, Chelsea maintained their prowess, securing another 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge. Dewsbury-Hall, having not yet started a league game, made the most of his opportunity by netting the final goal of the match.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m over the moon. I won’t forget this night.” He elaborated on his dedication, noting, “I pride myself on working as hard as I can every day. That’s what I’ve done ever since I was a kid. I’d like to play more, but it’s my duty to make sure the manager has a decision to make. I feel really fresh so that whenever I’m needed and I’m called upon, I will try and give as best as I can, and hopefully that’s what I did tonight.”

Dewsbury-Hall’s partnership with Cesare Casadei in central midfield marked a significant moment for both players, as neither had appeared in the league at that point. Additionally, Renato Veiga, a backup defender, scored his first goal for Chelsea, illustrating the depth and potential within the squad. Dewsbury-Hall is among a group of players primarily chosen for cup competitions and aims to make impactful contributions whenever required. Reflecting on the challenges and opportunities at Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall noted the importance of maintaining high standards.

He commented on the intense environment at Chelsea, saying, “Even misplacing a pass in training, little things like that, the standards are so high. And when you’re on the pitch, it’s so nice to play with players that are on your wavelength. Players like Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto; these are top, top players, and they are the players you want to play with because that’s how you thrive and improve. Since the first day I came into the club, it was about learning and evolving, and that’s what I’m here for.”
